Liquid PES 5 is used as the coolant; lubricant for cortical casting and molds for molding plastic and rubber products; heat-resistant component of lubricants in the manufacture of chemical fibers; the damping fluid in the apparatus; an additive in the polishing and cleaning compositions. Fluid PES provide excellent lubrication properties when sliding metal on metal, and retains its properties at lower temperatures compared to polydimethylsiloxane fluid, does not oxidize at temperatures up to 150°C and remains thermally stable in an inert atmosphere up to 225°C, has a low surface tension, chemically inert, corrosion-resistant.
