Perchloric acid HClO4 is a colourless volatile liquid, strongly fuming on
the air. Monocarboxylic acid, one of the strongest, density 1.5 kg/l
(60%).
Application
• Perchloric acid (Perlina acid) is used in the decomposition of complex ores, in the analysis of minerals, as a catalyst.
• Perchloric acid and its salts (perchlorates) is used as the oxidizing agents.
• Concentrated aqueous solutions of perchloric acid are widely used in
analytical chemistry, as well as for obtaining perchlorates.
• Perchloric acid is used in the decomposition of complex ores, in the analysis of minerals, and as a catalyst.
• Salt of perchloric acid: potassium perchlorate КСlО4 slightly soluble in water,
used in the manufacture of explosives, magnesium perchlorate
