Sulfosalicylic acid
(Salicilamidovy acid) is a white crystalline powder;
infinitely soluble in water, ethanol, acetone, diethyl ether.
Application
SULFOSALICYLIC ACID (Salicilamidovy acid) is used
• as a reagent for the detection and separation of ions of Fe, A1, Be, Hg, Ti, Zr,
Tl, U, etc., for the determination of Fe in the alloys, aluminium and other objects.
• in analytical chemistry as a masking agent for some metals and for the spectrophotometric determination of Fe, U, Be;
• in medicine, due to its ability to precipitate proteins from solutions
Sulfosalicylic acid is used for nephelometric determination
proteins
• SULFOSALICYLIC ACID and its salts have anti-septic action, etc.
