The reception of scrap of aluminium and its subsequent processing

Recycling of raw materials is an integral part of all modern metallurgy. Aluminum is one of the most sought after metals in points of reception of nonferrous metal. This is due to the unique properties of this material and ease of processing. Aluminium is lightweight, has high thermal and electrical conductivity, and effectively resists corrosion.

With the addition of alloying elements, the metal gets extra strength and heat resistance. Various aluminum alloys are used in a large number of industries, including:

  • auto industry;

  • engineering;

  • aircraft;

  • the production of consumer goods;

  • construction;

  • electrical industry;

  • instrumentation;

  • chemical industry.

Recycling

A distinctive feature of the aluminium – preservation of all its properties even after many processing cycles. Remelting of this metal is very beneficial and energy: recycling spent only 5% of its electricity from the cost of production of ore. That is why about one third of all aluminum in the world is produced from recycled materials. To meet the huge demand for this metal helps an extensive network of points of reception of scrap metal of aluminium. The sources of this metal are many: cans of drink, discarded building materials, utensils, wire, vehicles (boats, bikes, cars). Since all of these objects are easily recyclable, they represent the same value for the industry.

Scope

Because of its lightness aluminium is widespread in aircraft construction. Blocks, crankcases, pumps, motors – this is not a complete list of components that are made from this material and its alloys. Aluminium, due to its unique properties, is applied even in areas such as cryogenics, as well as in production of thermal equipment.

Without it, metal would not be able to be modern electrical engineering that would have stopped the production of capacitors, conductors, rectifiers and various control and measuring apparatus. And the food industry would experience great difficulties without aluminum foil.

Take in whole-ferrous metal, and aluminium in particular, at a high price stimulates the development of these sectors and reduces the cost of certain goods. Today, Russia ranks second in the production of this material after China.
