Lubricants are divided into groups depending on the following characteristics:

Division of oil origin / source raw materials.

• Mineral, or oil - are the main group produced (over 90 %) of lubricating oils.

distillate, residual, compounded.

• Vegetable and animal, i.e., organic origin.

• Synthetic, derived from different feedstocks many methods.

Division oils for external condition.

• The liquid lubricating oil;

• Plastic or grease,
which under normal conditions are in buttery condition;

• Solid lubricants, which do not change their state under the action of temperature, pressure, etc. (graphite, mica, talc and others).
