Used for the manufacture of insecticides; the lightness of glass; preserving furs and leather; cleaning of gases from H2S; the initiation of polymerization reactions; in the production of pyrotechnic materials.
Is obtained from the exhaust gases of the smelting furnaces (gas arsenic"); oxidizing roasting of ARSENICAL pyrites FeAsS.
Physical and chemical properties. Solid. Exists in three versions. T. point, the monoclinic modification 313°; b. p .. 456°; sob. 4,15; Sol in water 2,04 g/100 g (25°). Amphotere with a predominance of acidic properties. The aqueous solution is acidic.
