(potassium chloride, potassium salt of hydrochloric acid) in its pure form is a white crystalline solid, odorless, hygroscopic, caking during storage, very soluble in water. Refers to the structural type NaCl.
The melting point 776° C, boiling point 1407° C. the Density of 1,984 g/cm3.
Application.
Agriculture is the most common highly concentrated potash fertilizer.Is used in mineral nutrition of crops in all soil-climatic zones of Ukraine under the basic cultivation of the soil. It is advisable to apply in the fall for supply of wheat and other crops that are not sensitive to the harmful effects of chlorine.
In medicine is the main intracellular ion, which plays an important role in regulating body functions.Used when heart rhythm intoxication after administration of cardiac glycosides and diuretics (diuretics), with a lack of potassium in the body.
As intended for the production of leather substitutes, synthetic rubber,for the manufacture of potassium hydroxide by electrolysis,bakery and fodder yeast,as well as for the production of therapeutic and prophylactic salt.
