Sodium silicate (metasilicate)
Sodium metasilicate—
inorganic compound salt of the alkali metal sodium and metasilicic acid with the formula Na2SiO3,
colorless or white crystals, soluble in cold water, forms a crystalline.
Sodium metasilicate is used:
in
the production of household and technical detergents, bleaching and cleaning products;
— in the oil industry;
— as a coagulant for production of regenerative oil in the process
refining;
in the textile industry for bleaching;
— in the metallurgical and engineering industries in the process
neutralization of the metal surface;
— in the food industry in the process of refining vegetable oil;
in water treatment as a corrosion inhibitor and a secondary
coagulant; in household and production for the disinfection of rooms, clothes, utensils,
plumbing;
— in the production of coolants for engines;
— in the construction and road-building industries.
