Lithium carbonate
(lithium carbonate, lithium carbonate) salt of alkaline metal lithium and coal
acid is melkochristalliceski white powder, poorly
soluble in water. Melting point 732 °C.
Getting
Lithium carbonate (Lithium carbonate) is produced by passing
carbon dioxide through a solution of lithium hydroxide, as well as by reaction
potash or soda with the lithium salt solutions at 80-90 °C.
Application
Lithium carbonate (lithium carbonate, lithium carbonate) widely used in
various areas, for example:
• as an alloying component to provide special properties of glass and
ceramics; in the manufacture of enamels, glazes, various thermo and acid resistant
coatings.
• as a component of the refining flux in aluminium production;
• as intermediate for the synthesis of various compounds of lithium,
additives in ferrous metallurgy, production of special glasses.
• in the production of porcelain: for the introduction of the charge and produce products with
small coefficient of linear expansion and an almost complete absence of shrinkage
the firing process.
• petroleum, chemical and textile industries.
• in medicine and agriculture etc.
