Dihydrogen sodium — inorganic compound salt acid alkali metal of sodium and phosphoric acid formula NaH2PO4 is colorless crystal, soluble in water, forms a crystalline.

Melts crystalline hydrates, as well as concentrated solutions of sodium dihydrogen phosphate represent the viscous turbid opalescent liquid, easily crystallizing at lower temperature to a translucent glassy mass.

Е339 (phosphate of sodium) – food Supplement used as acidity regulator, emulsifier, stabilizer, water-retaining agent. In addition, the Supplement is Е339 captures color products and enhances the action of antioxidants.

Supplement Е339і - Orto-phosphate sodium 1-substituted with a chemical formula of NaH2PO4.

In the food industry additive Е339 can be used in foods such as bakery and confectionery products (leavening agent), soft drinks, dairy products (including include dry milk, dry cream), soups, broths, pasta, sauces, teas (dry and instant), cheese, meat and fish products, products of fast cooking etc.

The sodium phosphates used to be commonly used in various washing powders and detergents.

Sodium phosphate is the main active the substance is a medicinal product which acts as a laxative. Therefore, we can conclude that it is not worth much to get involved in the consumption products with the addition of Е339, because it can lead to disruption of normal the functioning of the intestine.

In Ukraine, the countries of the European Union allowed the use of sodium phosphates as a food additive Е339.
