Calcium nitrate

Calcium nitrate (calcium nitrate, calcium nitrate) is the inorganic salt of nitric acid. The compound is strongly hygroscopic, so it is stored without access of moisture. Chemical formula CA(NO3)2.

When 500 °C begins to decompose with the release of O2 and the formation of the first Ca(NO2)2, and then Cao and NO2. Calcium nitrate under normal conditions is incombustible, fire- and explosion proof, resistant to temperatures from -60 °C to +155 °C.

For the preparation of granulated calcium nitrate is used method of low-temperature nitric acid is neutralized with natural limestone or refined products limestone.

Calcium nitrate (calcium nitrate, calcium nitrate, limestone ammonium nitrate, Ca(NO3)2 in pure form is a crystalline solid white color, odorless. Calcium nitrate and its hydrates strongly hygroscopic, so they must be stored without access of moisture. Well soluble in water. Calcium nitrate under normal conditions is incombustible, fire- and explosion. Can be produced in granular form.

Large the amount of calcium nitrate used in agriculture as fertilizer. Calcium nitrate is a physiological alkaline fertilizer suitable for all soils and especially for zakislenia sod-podzolic soils. Calcium nitrate contribute for all crops. Especially effective for calcinit spring fertilizing of winter crops. Calcium gives strength to cell walls plants, stimulates root development, vegetative growth and development ornamental and agricultural crops (sugar beet, fodder and dining room, potatoes, maize grain and silage, cabbage, soybeans, tomatoes, beans, parsley, cucumber, strawberries, Apple trees, chrysanthemums, roses, carnations).

When feeding calcium-containing fertilizers improves the product, extended periods of storage. Calcium nitrate is also used to prevention of rotting of tomatoes, peppers, lettuce, apples, and other diseases caused by calcium deficiency. Calcium nitrate must not be mixed with fertilizers, containing sulfates and phosphates.

Calcium nitrate is widely used in construction as concrete additives, which has complex properties. Calcium nitrate acts as an accelerator, improves the strength characteristics, it is compatible with all plasticizers (lignosulfonate, superplasticizers to naphthalene and melamine bases etc.). Calcium nitrate inhibits corrosion of rebar caused by high content of chlorides is antifreeze additive (-20 °C), and is also used in the production of building materials and dry building mixtures.

In chemical industry limestone ammonium nitrate used as component of the brine in refrigeration and in the manufacture of explosives. In addition, the calcium nitrate is used in the production of reagents and GRP.

In construction, in particular, in the creation of concrete, dry stroybasa and other building materials, calcium nitrate has long appreciated due to its unique characteristics which are:

– the acceleration of processes, increase in strength;

– compatibility with various plasticizers;

– extending shvatyvanija at constant flow;

– anticorrosional valves;

– increase frost resistance.

In addition the calcium nitrate is actively exploited in a variety of fields industry: electronic, piezoelectric, chemical, color metallurgy. With her help, made the brine in the refrigerator, produce chemicals, fiberglass, and explosives.

For the carriage of this substance should be placed in bags or special containers (big bags). As the vehicle can act as railway carriages and cars. Shelf life under the right conditions storage – hygroscopic, do not allow moisture.
