Streptomycin sulfate is an antibacterial drug in powder form, containing (in terms of dry substance) of 730 ág/mg active substance (CB) - streptomycin sulfate. Streptomycin sulfate is active against many gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms, including Staphylococcus, Pasteurella, Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Campylobacter, leptospires.
The antibiotic has no effect on anaerobic bacteria, fungi, viruses and protozoa.
- Method of application and doses: Streptomycin sulfate is used to treat leptospirosis, edematous disease, swine erysipelas, and campylobacteriosis lumpy cattle, pneumonia, mastitis, endometritis, wound and postpartum sepsis and other diseases pathogens which are sensitive to streptomycin.
Before using the product is dissolved in distilled water in the ratio 1:10.
When leptospirosis cattle and pigs streptomycin sulfate is administered to the animals once a day for three days at a dose of 25 mg/kg weight of the animal.
Use of streptomycin inside the group with a mixture of conc. feed rate of 10-15 mg/kg of body weight of the animal.
Not allowed combined use of streptomycin sulfate
with other aminoglycoside antibiotics (neomycin, kanamycin, gentamicin).
- Waiting period: the Slaughter of animals for meat is allowed not earlier than 7 days after the last treatment. Meat of animals slaughtered before the expiration of the specified term, may be used to feed carnivorous animals or production of meat and bone meal.
Milk obtained from animals during treatment and for 2 days after the last administration of streptomycin sulfate for injection, do not use for food purposes. Such milk may be used after heat treatment for animal feed.
