Lincomycin is an antibiotic produced by Streptomyces lincolniensis or other related actinomycetes. Lincomycin has antimicrobial action, showing the highest activity against most gram-positive bacteria, including Staphylococcus, streptococci, pneumococci, Clostridium, corynebacteria and mycoplasmas. The drug is active against microorganisms, especially staphylococci resistant to other antibiotics. Sustainability microorganisms to lincomycin produced slowly. On gram-negative bacteria, fungi and viruses is not valid.
The mechanism of action is associated with inhibition of protein synthesis in microbial
cells.
- Method of application and doses: Lincomycin is used in the form of a 10% solution pigs, calves, dogs and cats for the treatment of respiratory diseases, actinomycosis, osteomyelitis and other diseases, caused by susceptible to the antibiotic by microorganisms. The drug indicated for the treatment of enzootic pneumonia of swine dysentery, and in the treatment of bacterial arthritis of pigs caused by Staphylococcus spp. Streptococcus spp. and Mycoplasma spp.
The solution was injected intramuscularly or intravenously once a day
the dose of 10-12 mg FE per 1 kg of body weight.
No use of the drug in animals with advanced cicatricial
digestion in the age of 6 months.
- Waiting period: the Slaughter of animals for meat is allowed not earlier than 3 days after the last injection of the drug.
In the case of compulsory slaughter of animals before the deadline, meat can be used as feed for fur animals or for the production meat and bone meal.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry, dark place.
- Packing: Cans of 25 kg.
