Bentonite is a natural clay mineral having the property of swelling upon hydration (14-16). While limiting the space for the free swelling in the presence of water forms a thick gel, which prevents further penetration of moisture . This property, as well as non-toxic and chemical resistance makes it indispensable in the production, construction and many other fields.
